Arundel Greening Campaign

What's it about.

Communities in West Sussex are coming together as never before to show that even small lifestyle changes can lead to massive benefits for the environment. From housing estates to parishes, more and more people are joining forces to work with the Greening Campaign, a not for profit organization backed by local authorities and other companies.
Each community chooses its own environmental challenges from a list supplied by the Campaign, and is later given the financial and the CO2 savings it has made and they certainly add up!

Changes can range from installing energy efficient light bulbs to composting, using less water or growing your own food. Arundel is taking part in this Campaign.

How will 1st Arundel Scouts be involved.

1st Arundel has been asked to look at how our members might save water and promote the use of water saving devices for our toilets. To this end we have given one/two of these out with this letter for your homes.

If your toilet can accommodate a "Save a Flush bag" please try and install it. (do not install it if you have a low flush toilet, you are already doing your bit). The bag will not only save you money (if you are on a water meter) but it will help to reduce the amount of water used overall reducing our carbon footprint due to the saving CO2 during its production.

In addition we will be seeing how "Green" 1st Arundel Scouts are as a whole when it comes to using water. So we have produced a survey to see how we use water and we shall be presenting the combined results.

On 20th March 1st Arundel attended the launch of the Campaign at Arundel Castle.
